International Missions
Establishes an annual Missions Budget for specific
worldwide ministries which are having a significant impact around the world and
encourages membership to financially support these causes.
Financial Assistance goes to the following:
(1) Trans World Radiobroadcasts
the Word of God to areas around the world where missionaries and churches are
prohibited.
(2) Literacy & Evangelism International - serves a two-fold purpose. People are taught to
read by using Biblical Context which has been translated into the different
languages and dialects, thus telling people about Jesus and his saving grace.
(3) Medical Benevolence Foundation - provides medical supplies and training to hospitals
and clinics in third world countries. Quarters are collected for immunization
shots for the children in these impoverished areas. This helps prevent the
spread of diseases, reduces the number of deaths and helps eliminate deformities.
Local Missions
Most of our mission oportunities locally come through different sunday school classes taking certain project under their wing. Right now we have some classes very involved in the Urban Ministry project. Contact the church office for information on how to join them or click the map at left for driving directions. Also we have begun a relationship with the local Habitat for Humanity. Projects are ongoing, so check in the church office, or keep your eyes open for announcements in the newsletter.
Pastoral Care
Pastoral care involves everyone in the entire church.
In the New Testament Church, elders were elected and ordained to serve those in need in the distribution of food. At Buffalo Presbyterian, Elders are elected by the Congregation each year to continue that work by leading the congregation in the work of pastoral care and support of all who are in need. Below are some of the ways the Deacons work throughout the congregation. If you would like to help with this work call or contact Rev Jesse (375-3380, x11)
